A Week in a Mountain Cabin

Though Ed's official 2009 birthday was in January, Nancy Fe and Linda found a (not so) humble mountain cabin near Blue Ridge, Georgia for a celebration in March.

The Cabin boasts three bedrooms, three baths, two fireplaces, pool table, hot tub - you get the idea...
Keeping in the birthday spirit, we made day trips to Amicalola Falls State Park and to Dahlonega where I had corned beef and cabbage swallowed down (a phrase we learned in Blue Ridge) with Guinness Stout for Saint Patrick's Day.

Amicalola Falls marks the beginning of the Appalachian Trail, a continuous footpath extending more than 2,000 miles, following the crest of the Appalachian Mountains to Mount Katahdin, Maine. We didn't walk that far.

Many days we had good reason to entertain ourselves at The Cabin.
