We're going on a cruise.
Whenever anyone asks where, I answer Burger King on Kings Highway.
That's where the bus picks us up to take us to Port Miami. It's stressful,
but somehow we find beverages to pass time until we can enter our cabins. |
There are 24 of us in
the Conquistador contingency, but being a wandering group, it's hard to get
everyone together. Passing time at sea, finding our first port, we
watch the belly flop competition. At bedtime, there's a towel bulldog
wearing shades. |

At
Road Harbour in the British Virgin Islands, Mark
sets the itinerary and guides us to Devil's Bay National Park.
After the ferry ride and bus trip we hike to The Baths, finding beaches, beer
and a t-shirt with a pocket. |

| |
Following lunch and
shopping, we reverse travel to the ship for dinner with The Conquistadors. |
| |
| |
Ship's company execute a
lifeboat drill shortly after we dock in Antigua. A ship from another
cruise line sits beside us. |

Souvenir shopping and
eating occupy most of our day on Antigua. Hiking the city we visit a
local museum and listen to island music. How an oil drum can be tuned
to make those sounds remains a mystery to me. |

The port at Sint
Maartin has changed greatly since I visited three years ago. That
doesn't stop us from exploring local eateries, bars and t-shirt shops.
| |
| |
Sharing our Sint
Maartin pier is the Oasis of the Seas, a floating city nearly three times
our size. The following day in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands we
attend a Rotary meeting at Room With A View restaurant. |

For some reason,
the Cruise Director thinks a contest to find the lady with the prettiest
arms is good poolside entertainment for the trip back to Miami.
| |
| |
We almost run out
of towels by the end of the journey as our Cabin Attendants enjoy tying them
into fantasy characters. |
