  Don't ask what route I took to work on Saturday.  There were trees and power lines down at every intersection, on every street.  Amazingly, by the time I went home, key streets had been cleared.  
 

 

  
     
  Life at work changed after the storm.  I never thought mine would be the only car in a normally busy parking lot.  Most damage came when the lightweight concrete roofs were destroyed by the wind.  
 

 

  
     
  With a forty-foot section of roof missing at the Port Charlotte central office, causing hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage, techs scrambled to protect the electronics and replace damaged gear.  Outside, debris littered pair gain sites and pole lines.  
 

 

  
     
  That was some of the best food we ever tasted.
