Road Trip Florida to Arizona (and back?) Page 3 |

Dave and I left January 4th for Douglas,
Arizona. Here is the Third page of pictures.

| On Sunday, January 20th we leave Austin for College Station. On the way we stop in Snook, Texas. Fascinated by the name, we take pictures. | |||||

|||||
| After a Texas style BBQ lunch with Lisa, Pablo, Samantha and José we visit the Bush Presidential Museum. | |||||

Tuesday is the first dreary day. The
sun doesn't shine and the temperature doesn't leave the mid 50's. We drove onto the ferry to San Jacinto State Park to see the USS Texas, BB 35 and the San Jacinto Monument. Dave has been wanting to see an actual ghost town for the entire trip and we find one in Port Arthur. "After Hurricane Rita in 2005," they told us, "everyone left." |

Pulling out of Beaumont, Texas on January
22nd it's warm and sunny as Dave poses beside the World's Largest Fire
Hydrant. Down the street is Port of Beaumont; then south along the
Gulf and Avery Island, home of Tabasco. The evening is in New Orleans with drinks and dinner at the French Quarter. |

Wednesday morning we reach Ocean Springs,
Mississippi looking for the Rotary meeting. Instead we find a caboose
beside a Whispering Giant, not pictured. Passing a tool sale, I find
Dave an XL (Jo, Burgy and Rick take note!) Carhartt vest for
only $2.48. Dave wondered where Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue lived and we think we found it. On to Dauphine Island, we take the ferry across Mobile Bay to Pensacola. |

| On Thursday we go to the National Museum of Naval Aviation then on to spend the night in Carrabelle, Florida and visit the World's Smallest Police Station. | |||||
|
|

| Friday, January 25th is the last day of the trip. The first picture is to remind Dave to figure out what the powder is and the second is to prove we made it home with smiles on our faces. | |||||
